Kind of like Obama's support for public health insurance: it would have been nice, but he probably knew all along it wasn't realistic. When Romney is sitting in the big chair, staring all those GOP congressman and govenors in the face, pondering the possibility of a second term, could he really make the GOP the party that destroyed the modern social contract, that bankrupted the country? Who knows.
